ABSTRACT
We studied the spectra of nonlinear selective reflection from the inner window surface in a cell containing a high-density rubidium atomic vapor. In this system, the dipole self-broadening of the$5{ rm S}_{1/2}$-$5{ rm P}_{3/2}$ transition dominated over the broadening caused by the thermal motion of the atoms. The experiment involved a registration of burned dips in the investigated spectra using a probe laser and a pump laser. When the pump laser frequency was tuned to the center of the transition or slightly detuned, we recorded the saturation resonances at the maximum of the selective reflection contour or in its wing. Observing saturation resonances in the selective reflection contours confirm the inhomogeneous character of the dipole self-broadening in in the high-density atomic vapor.
